TAS Skilled Migration State Nomination update

The Subclass 491 Overseas Applicant (Job Offer) pathway is currently closed for new Registrations of Interest (ROIs) and applications for nomination. This closure will continue for the remainder of the 2024-25 program year due to extended visa processing times for applications made outside Australia and a rise in false claims. 

No further applications for nomination will be accepted at this time. Invitations to apply for nomination that were issued but not yet accepted have been withdrawn.

For those interested, the Subclass 190 Overseas Application (Health Sector Job Offer) pathway remains open for new ROIs and applications.

Overseas skilled workers looking to work in Tasmania, and businesses seeking to employ them, are encouraged to explore alternative visa pathways, including employer-sponsored visas.

Key Stats (as of 24 March 2025):

Subclass 190: 1403 nominations out of 2100 places used

Subclass 491: 513 nominations out of 760 places used

More than 89% of applications processed this year have been approved!
