The Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) conducts skills assessments for individuals seeking to work in early childhood education and care in Australia for migration purposes.
Eligibility:
You are eligible to apply for a Migration Skills Assessment if your nominated occupation is:
- 3 Below Skilled Occupations List are assessed with ACECQA
- Relevant to your qualification(s).
- Relevant to your employment experience (if applicable to the nominated occupation).
The occupations for which ACECQA is the assessing authority for migration purposes are:
- Early Childhood (Pre-Primary School) Teacher
- Child Care Centre Manager
- Child Care Worker (Group Leaders only)
Requirements:
The specific documents you need to provide depend on your nominated occupation and whether you already hold an ACECQA-approved qualification.
For all Migration Skills Assessments:
- Your valid passport (identity page).
- Evidence of a change of name (if applicable).
- A completed and signed Skills Assessment Applicant Declaration and Consent Form.
- A completed and signed Migration Agent Declaration and Consent Form.
If you hold an ACECQA-approved Diploma or higher qualification:
- Your official qualification certificate
- Your official academic transcript (must include all years of study).
If you need your qualification assessed under the National Quality Framework (NQF):
- Your official qualification certificate/parchment.
- Your official academic transcript (must include all years of study).
- Evidence of English Language Proficiency:
For Child Care Centre Manager and Child Care Worker (Group Leaders only) occupations (in addition to the above, if applicable):
- Formal employment contract in the relevant occupation.
- Formal position description in the relevant occupation.
- Evidence of service registration/regulation for each period of relevant employment.
- Completed Employer Reference Template by your employer for all employment experience you are claiming.
- Completed Employment Experience Template by you for all employment experience you are claiming.
For Provisional Skills Assessment (for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) - Child Care Centre Manager only):
- An ACECQA nationally approved diploma (or higher) early childhood education and care qualification from a CRICOS-registered provider.
- Evidence of at least 240 hours (for Diploma CHC50113) or 280 hours (for Diploma CHC50121) of supervised work placement completed in an Australian workplace as part of your qualification.
- Evidence that you meet the subclass 485 Temporary Graduate Visa eligible age requirement (under 35 years old from July 1, 2024).

- Review of a Migration Skills Assessment: AUD 990 (includes GST)
- Provisional Skills Assessment (for Temporary Graduate visa - Child Care Centre Manager): AUD 330 (includes GST)
- Review of a Provisional Skills Assessment: AUD 330 (includes GST)
- DAMA Skills Assessment: AUD 1100 (includes GST
