Illawara Regional Certifying Body

Regional Development Australia Illawarra is gazetted by the Minister for Immigration as the Regional Certifying Body (RCB) for the Illawarra region of NSW.

The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) (SESR) enables Australian employers in the Illawarra NSW regions to sponsor skilled overseas workers. This is to assist employers in regional and low population growth areas of Australia where they have been unable to fill vacant positions with Australian citizens or permanent residents living in or wishing to move to the Illawarra region where the nominated position is located.

The role of the of the RCB is to provide advice to the Department of Home Affairs (DoHA), using local knowledge to advise on whether the nominee for the position will be paid at least the annual market salary rate for the occupation.

Collate all supporting and documentary evidence as per the RCB Application

Receipt of RCB Payment

If you are subject to a section 48 bar you need to leave Australia before you can reapply for a visa.

NSW will not re-nominate applicants who are subject to a section 48 bar where their nomination has expired, and they are unable to leave Australia.

Nomination allocations provided by the Department of Home Affairs are limited and it is currently uncertain when border restrictions will be lifted.

To ensure the limited nomination positions allocated to NSW go to support the economic recovery of the state, RDA Illawarra will not refer applicants subject to a section 48 bar.

This fee is non-refundable once we have begun processing your application (i.e. after issuing your ARN).
