From 1 July 2024, Australia is updating visa conditions 8107, 8607, and 8608 to Temporary worker exploitation and enhance productivity. Temporary migrants on visas like the subclass 457, 482, and 494 will now have extended time (up to 180 days at a time or 365 days total per visa) after leaving their sponsoring employer to find new sponsorship, apply for another visa, or leave Australia. They can work for other employers during this period, even in different occupations. Visa holders must notify changes promptly, adhere to their nominated occupation while with their sponsor, and comply with licensing requirements. These changes affect current and future visa holders but exclude periods before July 2024 from the new allowances.
