Starting 14 October 2024, the new Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) will replace the existing AAT and IAA as part of the Australian Government's reform of the merits review process. Here are the key points you need to know:
Cases currently before the AAT will automatically transfer to the ART—no need to reapply!
Previous AAT decisions are finalized, but pending matters will transition seamlessly.
New timeframes for merits review will be communicated soon.
Significant issues can now be escalated through the new Guidance and Appeals Panel.
